From hundreds of acres of sand flats to hundreds of kms mangrove lined creeks, the species of this unique and pristine area will blow your mind. From Permit to Barramundi and everything in between. TOWNSVILLE
There are so many high quality options, from day trips to multi day trips in the Townsville region. Boasting several coral and sand flat areas as well as dozens of creeks and rivers to get you casting flies to a myriad of species. Townsville also offers a stocked Barramundi fishery that can see you getting the chance to cast flies amongst the Lilly pads where some very big Barra lurk beneath.
WHITSUNDAYS
We offer multi day combo trips in the Whitsundays/Proserpine region. Imagine yourself doing a couple of days fishing pristine sand flats for Permit and Golden Trevally or coral flats for Black Spotted Tuskfish and then heading off to fish the famous Peter Faust Dam sight casting to 1m plus Barramundi. The AFO team is here to look after all this for you. Our Whitsundays trips include accomodation so you can fly into Proserpine airport and leave the rest to us. Your guide will pick you up and take you on to your accommodation, then the fishing trip of your dreams.
FRESHWATER JUNGLE CREEKS
North Queensland has some of the most spectacular crystal clear jungle streams suited to casting hopper style dry flies for the iconic Jungle Perch and Sooty Grunter. Throw in a bonus of Barramundi, Mangrove Jack and Tarpon and you could end up with the freshwater “Big Five” on your day out walking or canoeing in some spectacular scenery. COCOS KEELING ISLANDS
Do really BIG Bonefish and Giant Trevally get your heart racing? Then have we got the location for you. We can accommodate your dream tropical Atoll trip to the amazing Cocos Keeling Island. Groups of up to 4 guests will fish out of a state of the art flats skiff and Sport Fishing boat. If boating is not your thing then wading the shallow pristine flats is definitely an option. Wading ankle deep waters and casting to tailing Bonefish is something every fly fisherman must experience. 6.5 days fishing including meals and accomodation.
